Jil Caplan
Jil Caplan原名Valentine，生于秋天的巴黎。她的父亲是印刷工人。她童年的记忆中充满了父亲大衣上的油墨味，锅炉味还有巴黎的地铁气味。而她那在合唱团领唱的母亲则激发了她的音乐热情。
Jil Caplan从小就喜欢在家里高唱《卡门》。作为独生女，她从小的爱好就是阅读。在12到18岁之间，她几乎看遍了父母大书架上所有的书，左拉、巴枯宁、亨利·米勒，她都照单全收。而每个星期三，她母亲总会领她到拉丁区的电影院。武打片、好莱坞歌舞剧、德国天才导演Rainer Werner Fassbinder的作品都是她的最爱。音乐、书籍、电影刻画出了她童年，牵引出她电影般的艺术人生。19岁那年，Jil Caplan考上了巴黎索邦大学的现代文学专业。大学期间她几乎每晚都流连于巴黎最先锋的俱乐部。在一次戏剧排练中，她认识了Jay Alanski，八十年代法国最著名的流行音乐制作人之一。Jay Alanski被这个女孩的嗓音所折服，建议她往音乐方向发展。于是Jil Caplan录制了她第一张专辑《À peine 21》（21未满），并且大获成功。随后她要陆续发布多张专辑，成为了法国年轻人八十到九十年代的共同记忆。
